President Donald Trump appeared on Second Lady Usha Vance's podcast "Storytime with the Second Lady," where he read a children's book and made jokes about former presidents, his appearance, and his reading habits.
The episode, released Friday, features Trump reading "Presidents Play!" a book published by the White House Historical Association about how US presidents spent leisure time at the White House. The Associated Press reported the episode was pre-recorded in the Oval Office in mid-June.
When Vance asked if he reads for pleasure, Trump replied, "I usually read stories about myself." He also commented on former presidents, calling Lyndon B. Johnson "a tough cookie," praising Ronald Reagan as "a high-quality person," and referring to John F. Kennedy as "the second-most good-looking president."
Regarding Richard Nixon, Trump said, "got himself into trouble, I guess," an apparent reference to Watergate. He also joked about Herbert Hoover's favorite game, Hoover Ball, saying, "That worked out better for him than the economy."
