PM Modi waves from airplane stairs in Australia, signaling business talks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Australia on Wednesday, beginning a two-day visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties in trade and defence. He was received at the airport by Australian officials and members of the Indian community, who turned out in large numbers to greet him.

On Thursday, Modi is scheduled to address a mega diaspora event at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, with an expected audience of around 30,000 people. Organizers say the gathering will be one of the largest Indian community receptions in Australia, featuring cultural performances and a speech by the prime minister.

The visit includes high-level meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, where the two leaders are expected to discuss a range of issues, including the ongoing trade negotiations, defence cooperation, and regional security. Officials from both sides have indicated that several agreements may be signed during the talks.

Modi's itinerary also includes interactions with business leaders and a visit to a technology hub, reflecting the growing economic partnership between the two countries. The Indian community in Australia has been a key focus of the visit, with Modi emphasizing the role of the diaspora in strengthening bilateral relations.
