Frisco Event Marks 250 Years of US Independence by IANT

The Indian American community of North Texas gathered Saturday at the Frisco Convention Center for a celebration organized by the Indo American News and the Indian American Network of Texas, or IANT. The event marked 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Attendees watched performances of classical and folk dances from India, alongside patriotic American songs. Organizers said the program aimed to highlight the contributions of Indian Americans to the nation's history and culture.

Local elected officials and community leaders spoke about the shared values of democracy and freedom. The celebration also included a naturalization ceremony for new U.S. citizens from several countries.

IANT officials noted that the event was one of the largest Indian American gatherings in the region to mark the semiquincentennial. The organization plans to hold similar events leading up to July 4, 2026.
