Jayshree Ullal tops Indian-origin women on Forbes' Richest Self-Made Women list.
Jayshree Ullal, CEO of networking company Arista Networks, is the highest-ranked Indian-origin woman on Forbes' 2024 list of America's Richest Self-Made Women. She ranks 14th overall with an estimated net worth of $1.9 billion.
Ullal, 63, has led Arista Networks since its founding in 2004. The company specializes in cloud networking and competes with Cisco Systems. Under her leadership, Arista's revenue grew to $5.86 billion in 2023.
Born in London to Indian parents, Ullal moved to the United States as a child. She earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and a master's in management from Santa Clara University.
Forbes' list ranks women who built their fortunes without inheriting them. Ullal's wealth comes from her stake in Arista, which she co-founded with Andy Bechtolsheim and David Cheriton.
Other Indian-origin women on the list include Neerja Sethi, co-founder of IT services firm Syntel, and Jayshree's daughter, who is not named in the list.
