Michigan Chapter Indian Overseas Congress USA launch event with leaders

The June 26 event at St. Toma Hall in Farmington Hills drew nearly 700 attendees, including professionals, community leaders, and supporters. Organizers said the gathering underscored growing interest in the organization's activities across the United States.

The Michigan chapter is part of a broader national expansion by IOC USA, which has been establishing state-level units to engage the Indian diaspora. The new chapter aims to mobilize community members around issues affecting India and the diaspora, as well as to foster cultural and political connections.

Speakers at the launch emphasized the importance of grassroots participation and the role of the diaspora in strengthening ties between India and the United States. The event featured discussions on community initiatives and future plans for the Michigan chapter.

With the addition of Michigan, IOC USA continues to broaden its reach, building on existing chapters in other states. The organization said it plans to hold further events and programs to engage Indian Americans in the region.
