Apple accuses OpenAI of stealing trade secrets and poaching talent to fast-track its AI hardware development.

Apple has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging the company stole confidential hardware specifications and trade secrets related to its artificial intelligence devices. The complaint also accuses OpenAI of poaching former Apple executives to illegally accelerate its own consumer AI product development.
According to the lawsuit, OpenAI used the stolen designs and insider knowledge to bypass years of costly research that Apple had invested in its AI hardware. Apple claims the theft allowed OpenAI to gain an unfair competitive advantage in the rapidly growing AI market.
The legal action names several former Apple employees who joined OpenAI, alleging they took proprietary documents and technical schematics with them. Apple is seeking damages and an injunction to prevent OpenAI from using the allegedly stolen information.
OpenAI has not yet publicly responded to the lawsuit. The case highlights escalating tensions between major tech companies over intellectual property and talent in the AI sector.
