The earthquake struck at 6:10 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located approximately 100 kilometers east of Visakhapatnam in the Bay of Bengal, according to the National Center for Seismology.

Residents in Visakhapatnam and nearby coastal areas reported feeling light shaking for a few seconds, but authorities confirmed no injuries or property damage.

The National Center for Seismology recorded the quake at a depth of 10 kilometers, classifying it as a shallow earthquake. Such events are common in the region due to tectonic activity in the Bay of Bengal.

Local disaster management officials said they are monitoring the situation and have not issued any alerts. Normal life continued in the city, with schools and businesses operating as usual.
