Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over a speedboat accident near Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island that killed at least 15 Indian tourists. The boat, carrying 32 Indian nationals and four crew members, capsized about 400 meters offshore.

The accident occurred when the vessel was traveling near the popular tourist destination. Rescue operations were launched immediately, but 15 people were confirmed dead. The remaining passengers and crew were rescued or accounted for.

Modi offered condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that the Indian government was in touch with Vietnamese authorities to provide assistance. The Indian embassy in Vietnam is coordinating with local officials to facilitate the repatriation of bodies and support the injured.

The cause of the capsizing is under investigation. Vietnamese authorities are working to determine whether mechanical failure or human error led to the tragedy.
