Canada Expels Low-Level Bishnoi Gang Member

According to the IRB decision, Singh, who entered Canada on a temporary visa in 2019, was flagged by law enforcement for his suspected involvement in gang activities. The board cited intelligence reports linking him to the Bishnoi gang, which is known for its involvement in extortion, drug trafficking, and targeted killings in India and abroad.

The deportation order comes amid heightened scrutiny of the Bishnoi gang's international reach. Canadian authorities have been coordinating with Indian agencies to track gang members operating within its borders. Singh's case, however, was processed through standard immigration proceedings, with the board determining he was inadmissible on grounds of organized criminality.

Singh has the right to appeal the decision to the Federal Court of Canada. His lawyer has not yet commented on the ruling. If the appeal fails, Singh will be removed to India, where he may face further legal action related to his alleged gang ties.

The IRB's decision underscores Canada's efforts to address transnational crime, though experts note that deportations of low-level operatives are often overshadowed by larger extradition cases involving senior gang figures.
