Four Indian Americans have been selected as 2026 Guggenheim Fellows, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation announced. The fellowships are awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts.
The Indian American recipients are among 184 artists, writers, scholars, and scientists chosen from nearly 3,000 applicants. The new fellows represent 52 different academic disciplines and artistic fields.
Each fellow receives a grant to pursue their work with as much freedom as possible. The foundation has awarded over $400 million in fellowships to more than 19,000 individuals since its establishment in 1925.
