Apple's Colorado chip factory expansion, a tech investment.

Apple has signed a multi-year agreement with Broadcom valued at more than $30 billion to purchase chips manufactured in the United States. As part of the deal, Apple will invest $1.5 billion to expand and modernize Broadcom's manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The investment is aimed at increasing production capacity and upgrading equipment at the Colorado plant. The facility produces radio frequency chips and other components used in Apple devices.

The agreement supports Apple's commitment to invest in American manufacturing and technology. The company has previously announced plans to spend billions on domestic production and job creation.

Broadcom's Fort Collins facility is a key supplier of chips for Apple's products, including iPhones and other devices. The expansion is expected to create jobs and strengthen the supply chain for U.S.-made semiconductors.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed beyond the total value exceeding $30 billion. The investment is part of Apple's broader strategy to reduce reliance on overseas chip production.
