Indian-origin engineer presents AI startup concepts at tech event.

Jain, a software engineer at Meta, resigned from his role to launch Mitosis Labs alongside co-founder Alex Morris. The startup focuses on developing next-generation AI technologies to improve human-computer interaction.

Mitosis Labs aims to create specialized AI systems that enhance how humans and machines communicate. Jain described the venture as a shift toward building more intuitive interfaces for users.

Jain had been at Meta for several years, earning a base salary of $300,000. He said the decision to leave was driven by a desire to work on foundational AI research and product development outside a large corporate structure.

The startup is in its early stages, with Jain and Morris currently assembling a team and seeking initial funding. They plan to release a prototype within the next year.
