Meta has introduced Muse Image, a new artificial intelligence tool that allows users to generate and edit images directly within its social media and messaging platforms. The feature is now available globally on Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and other Meta AI platforms.

The tool enables users to create original images from text prompts, as well as edit existing photos using AI-powered adjustments. Meta describes Muse Image as a creative assistant that can help users produce visual content without requiring advanced design skills.

Muse Image is integrated into the existing Meta AI assistant, which is accessible through chat functions and dedicated buttons in the apps. Users can type a description of the image they want, and the AI generates a corresponding visual within seconds.

The rollout covers all major markets where Meta operates, though availability may vary by region and device. Meta has not disclosed specific technical details about the underlying model but stated that it was trained on a large dataset of images and text.

Privacy and safety measures are built into the system, including content filters that prevent the generation of harmful or misleading imagery. Meta also noted that images created with Muse Image will be labeled as AI-generated to promote transparency.
