12-Year-Old Indian-Origin Girl Launches AI Startup Voxa

Mana Jampala, a seventh-grader from British Columbia, created Voxa to handle customer calls for small businesses after watching her father miss important calls at his dental practice. The AI system greets callers, answers frequently asked questions, and schedules appointments, freeing up staff to focus on in-person customers.

Jampala began coding at age nine, using free online resources to learn Python. She spent months building Voxa's prototype, testing it with local businesses to refine its responses and ensure it could handle natural conversation.

The startup has already attracted attention from local business owners who see it as an affordable alternative to hiring a full-time receptionist. Jampala plans to expand Voxa's features to include multilingual support and integration with popular scheduling software.

Despite her age, Jampala is committed to her education and continues to attend school while developing Voxa. She hopes to inspire other young girls to pursue technology and entrepreneurship, saying that age should not be a barrier to innovation.
