Indian-American Leader Dr. Geeta Trivedi Dies at 86

Dr. Trivedi, a longtime resident of Lexington, Massachusetts, was known for her decades of medical practice and her tireless volunteer work with local Indian-American organizations. She served on the boards of several cultural and educational groups, including the India Association of Greater Boston and the New England Center for Indian Culture.

Her medical career spanned more than 40 years, during which she practiced internal medicine at multiple hospitals in the Boston area. Colleagues remember her as a dedicated physician who often went beyond standard care to help immigrant families navigate the healthcare system.

Beyond her professional work, Dr. Trivedi was a mentor to younger Indian-American professionals and a frequent speaker at community health fairs. She also helped establish a scholarship fund for first-generation college students from the diaspora.

She is survived by her two children, three grandchildren, and her brother, who resides in India. A memorial service is planned for August 1 at the Lexington Community Center, with a private cremation to follow.

The family has requested that donations in her memory be directed to the American Heart Association or the India Association of Greater Boston's community health programs.
