Americans May Soon Submit Passport Photos From Home

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a new State Department initiative that will allow Americans to take and submit passport photos from home using a smartphone or laptop camera.

The program aims to streamline the passport application process by eliminating the need for in-person photo appointments at post offices or retail stores.

Officials said the system will use software to ensure photos meet government standards for lighting, background, and facial expression.
