Dr. Amish Shah, Democrat for U.S. Congress, poses next to his campaign sign.

Shah, a former Arizona state representative, is running in Arizona's 1st Congressional District, a seat currently held by Republican David Schweikert. Dandiya, a businesswoman and former Capitol Hill staffer, is challenging Republican incumbent Young Kim in California's 40th Congressional District.

The Red to Blue program is designed to boost Democratic candidates in districts that are considered winnable, providing them with financial and strategic assistance. The DCCC's endorsement is a significant boost for both candidates as they seek to unseat Republican incumbents in the 2024 election cycle.

Shah, who previously served in the Arizona House of Representatives, has emphasized healthcare and economic issues in his campaign. Dandiya, who has worked as a staffer on Capitol Hill and in the private sector, has focused on job creation and supporting small businesses.

Both candidates are part of a wave of Indian-American candidates running for Congress in 2024, reflecting the growing political engagement of the Indian-American community. The DCCC's endorsement signals the party's confidence in their ability to flip these seats and help Democrats regain the House majority.
