Taco Bell announced plans to introduce an Indian Chicken Butter Taco to its US menu after the item received a landslide of votes in a customer poll. The fast-food chain said the winning creation, inspired by butter chicken, will be available nationwide starting next month.

The taco features a flour tortilla filled with seasoned chicken in a creamy tomato-based sauce, topped with a blend of cheeses and a cooling yogurt sauce. It was selected from a lineup of regional flavors in a vote that drew millions of responses.

Taco Bell executives said the overwhelming support for the Indian-inspired option reflects growing demand for diverse flavors in American fast food. The company plans to keep the item on the menu for a limited time, with potential for a permanent spot based on sales.

The launch marks Taco Bell's first foray into Indian cuisine, part of a broader strategy to experiment with global tastes. The chain has previously introduced items like the Quesalupa and the Naked Chicken Chalupa through similar voting campaigns.
