Indian American Senthil Padmanabhan Named Lyft CTO for AI Growth

Padmanabhan will oversee the company's technical infrastructure, technology strategy, and engineering operations, according to Lyft's official announcement. He will report directly to CEO David Risher.

Padmanabhan brings extensive experience in technology leadership. Prior to joining Lyft, he held senior engineering positions at major tech companies, where he led large-scale platform development and AI initiatives.

Lyft's announcement did not specify how Padmanabhan's hiring might affect existing engineering teams or whether it signals a shift in the company's current AI partnerships.

Padmanabhan's start date is set for July 20, 2026, and he will be based at Lyft's headquarters in San Francisco.
