Tom Suozzi Appointed Vice-Chair of Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans

Representative Tom Suozzi of New York has been named vice-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, a bipartisan group that works to strengthen relations between the United States and India and address issues affecting the Indian American community.

The caucus, co-chaired by Representatives Ro Khanna and Michael Waltz, includes members from both parties who advocate for closer economic, strategic, and cultural ties with India. Suozzi’s appointment was announced by the caucus leadership.

Suozzi, a Democrat representing New York’s 3rd Congressional District, has been a vocal supporter of the U.S.-India partnership. He has previously cosponsored legislation to designate Diwali as a federal holiday and supported measures to expand trade and security cooperation with India.

The caucus also serves as a platform for Indian American constituents to engage with lawmakers on policy matters. Suozzi’s role as vice-chair is expected to amplify these efforts, particularly on issues such as immigration reform and diaspora community concerns.
