India's Dual Push: Digital OCI and Cultural Programs

India is blending digital tools and cultural immersion to build systematic diaspora ties. The fully digital Overseas Citizen of India cards let holders apply, update passports online, and skip physical renewals after age 20, cutting paperwork and mission visits.

The 88th edition of the Know India Programme runs from 16 to 29 August 2026 for diaspora youth aged 18 to 28. The program showcases heritage, innovation and development to foster contributions toward Viksit Bharat.

Both moves signal tech-driven engagement targeting professionals across North America and Europe for long-term economic and diplomatic links.
