The Qatar-India PosTransfer service, now operational, lets Indian expatriates in Qatar send money home using the Unified Payments Interface. The service adds to a growing list of bilateral UPI corridors that simplify cross-border transfers for the diaspora.

Separately, the Reserve Bank of India's Foreign Currency Non-Resident Bank (FCNR(B)) scheme, which offered currency risk coverage and tax exemptions, drew such strong response from non-resident Indians that it closed on August 31, earlier than scheduled.

Both mechanisms highlight how Indian diaspora members are increasingly engaging with simplified, incentive-backed channels for remittances and deposits, reflecting a broader trend of financial integration between India and its overseas communities.

The developments come as diaspora financial activity gains momentum, with new tools and policy measures aimed at easing cross-border money management.
