Beneficiaries describe the group as a lifeline during prolonged ordeals. In one case, a worker in Chabahar, Iran, spent months unable to leave due to unpaid wages and lost documents. Aim India Forum volunteers arranged legal aid and coordinated with local authorities to secure the man's return.
Another case involved a woman in the United Arab Emirates who was stranded after her employer confiscated her passport. The non-profit helped her obtain emergency travel documents and funded her flight home, ending a two-year separation from her family.
The organization operates entirely through volunteers, many of whom are Indian diaspora members in the United States. They field requests through a helpline and social media, then work with embassies, airlines, and local shelters to arrange safe passage.
Aim India Forum says it continues to receive new cases each month, and its volunteers are expanding outreach to Indian workers in the Gulf and Southeast Asia, where many distress calls originate.
