A Day in the Park with Your MMA Family

The annual 'MMA Family Day' took place last Saturday at Riverside Park, drawing hundreds of attendees from across the state. Organized by the nonprofit Mixed Martial Arts for All, the event featured free beginner classes, a kids' obstacle course, and demonstrations by local fighters.

Attendees participated in yoga, pad work, and grappling drills led by certified instructors. 'It's about showing that MMA is for everyone, not just competitors,' said event coordinator Maria Lopez. 'We want families to enjoy a fun day while learning the basics.'

Local food trucks served a variety of cuisines, and vendors sold gear and merchandise. Proceeds from the day went to support youth martial arts programs in underserved neighborhoods.

The event concluded with a friendly exhibition match between two amateur fighters, followed by a Q&A session where fans asked about training and nutrition. Organizers announced that next year's event will expand to include a tournament for junior participants.
