Greenacres City Council Honors India Independence Day

Mayor Charles Shaw presented the official proclamation to Neil Zutshi during a recent city council meeting, recognizing the cultural and economic contributions of the Indian American community in Greenacres.

The proclamation designates August 15, 2026, as India Independence Day in the city, aligning with the date India gained independence from British rule in 1947.

Zutshi, a local resident, accepted the honor on behalf of the community, which has grown significantly in the region over the past decade.
