Dr. Pani, who previously served as the hospital's chief quality officer, will oversee medical staff operations and patient safety initiatives. His new responsibilities include aligning clinical practices with regulatory standards and coordinating care across departments.

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Pani completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has held leadership positions in several Texas hospitals, focusing on quality improvement and evidence-based medicine.

In his new role, Pani will work with physicians and administrators to enhance care delivery at the 360-bed facility, which serves a population of more than 400,000 in the Lake Houston area. He will also support the hospital's expansion of cardiac and stroke services.

Pani said he looks forward to building on the hospital's strengths and fostering a culture of collaboration. 'My priority is to ensure every patient receives safe, high-quality care,' he said in a statement.

The appointment takes effect immediately, according to hospital officials.
