Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticizes PM Modi for claiming India's passport ranking has improved.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his claims that India's passport ranking has improved significantly under his government. Kharge accused Modi of misleading the public with false statistics.
In a statement, Kharge pointed to the Henley Passport Index, which ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. According to the index, India's passport ranked 80th in 2023, a drop from its 76th position in 2014.
Kharge said Modi's assertion that India's passport ranking had improved was a distortion of facts. He urged the prime minister to focus on actual issues rather than making unsubstantiated claims.
The Congress leader also highlighted that the government's foreign policy has failed to enhance the global mobility of Indian citizens. He called for a more transparent and fact-based approach to governance.
