Ajay Thomas Appointed Board Chair-Designate at Southwestern University

Thomas, a 1991 graduate of Southwestern University, will assume the role of board chair in 2026 after serving a one-year term as chair-designate. He currently serves as a partner at the law firm Jackson Walker LLP in Austin, Texas, where he focuses on corporate and securities law.

His appointment was announced following the board's spring meeting. Thomas has been a member of the board of trustees since 2018 and has chaired the board's investment committee.

Southwestern University, located in Georgetown, Texas, is a private liberal arts college with about 1,500 students. Thomas succeeds current board chair Mary Beth Williamson, whose term ends in 2025.
