Frisco Mayor Joins Telugu Community at Bonalu Festival

The event, organized by the Dallas Telugu Alai Balai Sangham (D-TABS), took place indoors at the Frisco Flyers Event Center. It drew hundreds of attendees from the local Telugu-speaking population.

Bonalu is a traditional Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Mahakali, celebrated primarily in the Telangana region of India. The Frisco gathering featured cultural performances, traditional music, and food, offering a slice of home for the diaspora.

Mayor Hill addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of cultural diversity in Frisco and praising the Telugu community's contributions to the city's social fabric. His participation underscored the city's commitment to embracing its multicultural residents.

D-TABS, a community organization serving the Telugu community in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, has been instrumental in organizing cultural events that preserve and promote Telugu heritage. Sunday's festival was one of its largest gatherings this year.

The event concluded with a collective prayer and a vote of thanks to the mayor and volunteers, reflecting the community's gratitude for the city's support.
