Jasch Asher, a former senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), relocated to India in September 2024 without informing his employer, a move that breached his employment contract. The company discovered the unauthorized relocation through internet logs and access card data, which showed his activity originating from India.

When confronted, Asher declined to return to Ireland, where he was based, and subsequently filed a complaint claiming his supervisor had bullied him. The alleged bullying was reported after the company flagged his location discrepancy.

PwC terminated Asher's employment following the breach of contract. The case highlights the challenges remote work poses for multinational firms, particularly regarding employee location tracking and compliance with contractual obligations.
