A former senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) secretly relocated to India in September 2024 without company authorization, violating his employment contract. Jasch Asher's move was uncovered when the firm detected his internet activity and access card data revealed his location outside Ireland.

After being confronted, Asher refused to return to Ireland. He later alleged that his supervisor had bullied him, though the company's investigation found no evidence of misconduct. PwC terminated his employment for breaching contractual terms and dishonesty regarding his work location.

The case highlights the challenges of remote work enforcement, particularly for roles requiring physical presence or data security compliance. Asher's claims of bullying were dismissed after a review of communications and workplace records.
