The curtain-raiser, held on July 17, drew leaders from multiple Indian-American organizations who pledged to work together under the banner of the National Association of Indian Organizations (NAIO). Consul General Binaya Pradhan voiced strong support for NAIO's goal of creating a collaborative national platform for the diaspora.

The main celebration is scheduled for August 15 at the Long Island Marriott, marking India's 80th Independence Day. Organizers are also linking the event to America's 250th anniversary, highlighting the shared democratic values and the contributions of Indian Americans to both nations.

Pradhan's endorsement signals the consulate's backing for NAIO's broader mission to coordinate community efforts across the United States. The initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties and amplify the Indian American voice in national conversations.

The launch comes as Indian Americans play an increasingly prominent role in U.S. society, a trend underscored by recent high-level interactions. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during a visit to Chicago, credited the community with enhancing India's global standing and soft power, reflecting the deepening bilateral relationship.
