Indian Man Among 25 Charged in US Citizenship Fraud Crackdown

The U.S. Department of Justice announced charges against 25 individuals, including an Indian national, in a sweeping crackdown on citizenship fraud. The civil complaints, filed in federal courts across the country, accuse the defendants of hiding serious criminal histories or assuming false identities to obtain naturalization.

Among those charged is an Indian man whose specific case details were not disclosed. The DOJ said the enforcement action represents the largest single-day filing of denaturalization cases in its history, underscoring a renewed focus on ensuring that citizenship is reserved for those who earned it honestly.
