Diwali decorations light up a street, celebrating community.

The Bay Area Indian Cultural Association will host the Bay Area Diwali Mela 2026 on Saturday, October 10, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Fremont Central Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Organizers expect over 10,000 attendees to enjoy more than 50 food stalls offering regional Indian cuisine, from chaat to biryani. Cultural performances will run throughout the day on two stages, featuring classical and folk dances, music, and a fashion show.

Children's activities include a dedicated play zone with face painting, crafts, and traditional games. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 p.m.

The association has partnered with local businesses and community groups to arrange parking and shuttle services from nearby lots. Attendees are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, and waste stations will be set up to minimize environmental impact.

Proceeds from vendor fees will support the association's cultural programs and scholarships for Indian American students in the Bay Area. More details are available on the association's website.
