Spokane Complex Fire: 65,000 Evacuated as Blazes Destroy 700+ Structures

Firefighters are working through the night to contain multiple blazes that have scorched thousands of acres across Spokane County. The complex, which includes several separate fires, has forced evacuations in the city of Spokane and surrounding communities, with officials warning that the number of destroyed structures could rise as damage assessment teams reach affected areas.

The largest of the fires, the Gray Fire, has burned more than 10,000 acres and is 10% contained, according to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
