The new measures include a fully digital E-OCI portal, allowing existing Overseas Citizen of India cardholders to update personal details and access documents online, a feature particularly useful for those traveling to third countries.

Travelers can now register in advance for immigration clearance, enabling faster digital processing at major Indian airports at no cost. The consulate has also begun issuing chip-enabled e-passports, which support electronic verification at border controls globally.

Pradhan emphasized that satellite centers and outreach camps provide direct assistance, making agents unnecessary. He said written complaints will be acted upon promptly, addressing concerns about intermediaries exploiting applicants.

The upgrades aim to simplify visa applications and welfare support for the Indian diaspora, reducing paperwork and wait times. The consulate encourages applicants to use the official portals and report any difficulties directly to its offices.
