Tirumala Laddu Fetches Rs 7 Crore at Texas Charity Auction

A laddu from the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh was sold for Rs 7 crore (approximately $840,000) at a charity auction in Texas, United States. The auction was organized by a local Hindu temple in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to raise funds for community projects.

The winning bidder, a devotee of Lord Venkateswara, secured the sacred offering after a competitive bidding process. The laddu, considered prasadam, was flown from Tirumala to Texas specifically for the event.

Proceeds from the auction will be used to support educational and healthcare initiatives for the Indian diaspora in Texas. Organizers expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, noting that the sale highlights the devotion of the community abroad.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which manages the temple, confirmed the authenticity of the laddu and said it was part of a special consignment sent for religious events overseas. Similar auctions have previously raised substantial funds for charitable causes.
