Tirumala temple and laddu prasadam, relevant to Texas charity auction news.

A laddu from the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh was auctioned for Rs 7 crore (approximately $840,000) at a charity event in Texas. The winning bid came from a devotee based in the United States.

The auction was organized by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) as part of a fundraising effort for temple-related charitable activities. The laddu, considered a sacred offering (prasadam), was specially transported from India to the United States for the event.

TTD officials confirmed that the proceeds from the auction would be used for various philanthropic initiatives, including educational and healthcare programs. The identity of the winning bidder has not been disclosed.

The sale highlights the global reverence for the Tirumala temple and its traditions among the Indian diaspora. Similar auctions of temple prasadam have previously raised significant sums for charity in other countries.
