IAAC Erasing Borders Dance Festival 2026: Schedule & Venue Details

The Indo-American Arts Council presents the festival on two consecutive evenings, each starting at 6 p.m., at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College on 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. Tickets start at $20 and are available through the festival's website.

Saturday's lineup opens with a Bharatanatyam duo by Ganesh Vasudev and Nitya Narasimhan, followed by a Kuchipudi solo from Sreelakshmy Kallungal Govardhanan, a Kathak trio led by Shila Mehta with Salonee Satagar and Sanchita Dighe, and a Bharatanatyam and Kalaripayattu group performance by Radhe Jaggi and Team.

Sunday's program features a Mohiniyattam group led by Dr. Neena Prasad with musicians, an Odissi trio by Arushi Mudgal, and a contemporary solo by Preeti Vasudevan.

The festival showcases both established and emerging artists. Radhe Jaggi began her career performing in more than sixty temples in Tamil Nadu and has since appeared at Cambridge University, the House of Commons in London, and venues across South Korea, Malaysia, North America, and Europe. Arushi Mudgal's work Mūrta–Amūrta was named among The New York Times' Top Ten Dances of 2018. Preeti Vasudevan, a 2018 Arts Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State, serves on the artistic committee at New York's Lincoln Center.

Other performers include Sreelakshmy Kallungal Govardhanan, a graded Doordarshan and ICCR empanelled artist and trained psychologist; Shila Mehta, a Kathak artist with over four decades of experience and a Government of India Senior Fellowship recipient; and Nitya Narasimhan, artistic director of Prayukti Arts, which received the Sunnyvale City Arts Award in 2024.
