IAAC Erasing Borders Dance Festival 2026: Schedule & Venue Details

The Indo-American Arts Council will present the festival on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, with performances each evening at 6 PM at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, located on 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. Tickets start at $20 and are available through the council's website.

Saturday's lineup includes Bharatanatyam and Kalaripayattu group Radhe Jaggie and Team, a Kuchipudi solo by Sreelakshmy Kallungal Govardhanan, and a Kathak trio led by Shila Mehta. Sunday will feature a Mohiniyattam group performance by Dr. Neena Prasad, an Odissi trio with Arushi Mudgal, and a contemporary solo by Preeti Vasudevan.

The festival showcases both established and emerging artists. Radhe Jaggi, who began her career performing in over sixty temples in Tamil Nadu, has since appeared at Cambridge University, the House of Commons in London, and venues across Asia, Europe, and North America. Dr. Neena Prasad is recognized for her evocative Mohiniyattam choreography that blends tradition with contemporary themes.

Other performers include Arushi Mudgal, whose work Mūrta–Amūrta was named among The New York Times' Top Ten Dances of 2018; Shila Mehta, a Kathak artist with over four decades of experience; and Preeti Vasudevan, a choreographer who serves on the Lincoln Center's Artistic Committee and is a 2018 Arts Ambassador for the U.S. Department of State.

The festival also features Bharatanatyam artists Nitya Narasimhan, Ganesh Vasudev, and Aparna Sindhoor, along with Kalari artist Anil Natyaveda, Manipuri dancer Sanjib Bhattacharya, and Kathak artist Radha Varadan. Additional details on the full program are available at iaac.us/ebdf2026-ibs.
