IDIA Dance Festival 2026: Classical Indian dance performers and schedule for Aug 15-16.

The two-day program at Cubberley Theatre will feature expert-led workshops and panel discussions alongside performances by world-renowned headliners and Bay Area soloists. Organizers have designed the schedule to offer both deep instruction for practitioners and accessible showcases for newcomers to classical Indian dance.

Workshops will cover technical aspects of Bharatanatyam, including repertoire, rhythm, and expression, led by visiting experts. Panel discussions are expected to address topics relevant to the art form's practice and preservation in the diaspora.

Evening showcases will present full-length pieces by established touring artists, while soloists from the Bay Area will perform shorter works. The mix aims to highlight both the international reach of Bharatanatyam and the strength of the local dance community.

The festival has become a recurring fixture for the Indian diaspora in Northern California, drawing participants from across the region. Tickets and the full schedule are available through the event's official channels.
