IDIA Dance Festival 2026: Classical Indian dance performers and schedule for Aug 15-16.

The festival will feature expert-led workshops and panel discussions alongside classical Indian dance showcases by world-renowned headliners and Bay Area soloists. Organizers say the event aims to deepen appreciation for Bharatanatyam and other classical forms among the diaspora and broader audiences.

Cubberley Theatre, a 740-seat venue in the heart of Palo Alto, will host the two-day program. Past editions have drawn hundreds of attendees, including students, practitioners, and families from across the Bay Area.

Workshop sessions are designed for both beginners and experienced dancers, covering technique, repertoire, and the cultural context of the art form. Panel discussions will address topics such as preserving tradition in a modern diaspora and the role of classical dance in community building.

The festival also serves as a platform for emerging local talent to perform alongside established artists. A complete schedule and ticket information are expected to be released closer to the event date.
