The new program, announced Friday, requires creators to have an active Premium, Premium+, or Premium Business subscription, at least 500 followers, and 500,000 verified Home Timeline impressions in the previous 90 days, excluding replies.

X said it is ending the Creator Revenue Share Program to curb repetitive and low-quality posts, including content created solely to drive engagement. The company stated in a post that the new initiative will reward creators who bring original ideas, expertise, reporting, creativity, and commentary to the platform.

Existing Revenue Sharing members will receive three final payouts on August 14, August 28, and September 11. New applications for the old program are no longer accepted, and payments under it will continue through September 7, 2026.

Starting September 8, current Revenue Sharing members who meet the eligibility requirements can gradually apply to the new program. Payments under the new system will be made every two weeks, with the first payment scheduled for August 28 for new enrollees, and September 25 for those transitioning from the old program.

Earnings will be calculated based on unique impressions from Premium users viewing posts on the Home Timeline, with at least 50% of the post visible. Reposted content, substantial reproductions of others' work, or material taken from other platforms will not qualify for payouts.
