Tanjore Painting Workshop Scheduled for 2026

The workshop is organized by the Indian Heritage Foundation and will take place at the Community Arts Center in Edison, New Jersey. Participants will learn the techniques of Tanjore painting, a classical South Indian art style known for its use of gold foil and vibrant colors.

The event is scheduled for March 14 and 15, 2026, with two sessions each day. The morning session runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration is required and costs $75 per person, which includes all materials. The foundation said the workshop is open to adults and children aged 12 and older. Spaces are limited to 30 participants per session.

Instructors include two master artists from Tamil Nadu who specialize in Tanjore painting. They will guide attendees through creating a small deity-themed artwork over the two-day period.

Proceeds from the workshop will support the foundation's cultural preservation programs. Interested individuals can register online at the foundation's website starting January 1, 2026.
