San Francisco Bhangra & Beats 2026: Diwali Event Details

The July 24 event marked the first time the night market expanded into Yerba Buena Gardens, Jessie Square, and Yerba Buena Lane, drawing thousands to the arts district. Mayor Daniel Lurie said the gathering activates public spaces and supports small businesses, adding to downtown's transformation into a round-the-clock neighborhood.

The Main Stage featured Non-Stop Bhangra with DJs Rav-E Sandhu, Nix Bhachu, and DJ GT, live dhol drummers Ashi Dholi and Gulshan Dholi, and dance lessons from Dholrhythms Dance Company. The Jessie Square Stage hosted Bay Area duo Lychy Jelly, who mixed house, bass, pop, and Desi anthems.

More than 40 vendors set up a multicultural bazaar, including food stalls like Bini's Kitchen, Curry Up Now, and Koolfi Creamery, as well as shops such as Jaipur Blues, Kinara Couture, and The Didi Jewelry Project. Anne Taupier, executive director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, said events like this connect local restaurants, artists, and vendors with the community.

Non Stop Bhangra co-founder Vicki Virk said Yerba Buena Gardens, with its history of world music and culture, feels like a natural home for the event. Into The Streets CEO Katy Birnbaum called the move an incredible new canvas that brings thousands into one of downtown's most important cultural districts.

The 2026 series will conclude with San Francisco's Official Diwali Celebration on November 13 at the same venue. The event is free and open to all ages.
