San Francisco Bhangra & Beats 2026: Diwali Event Details

The July 24 edition of the event marked its debut at Yerba Buena Gardens, expanding into Jessie Square and Yerba Buena Lane. Organizers said the move opened a larger canvas for the celebration of South Asian culture in the city’s arts district.

Mayor Daniel Lurie welcomed the crowd, saying the event activates public spaces and supports small businesses. Katy Birnbaum, CEO and founder of Into The Streets, which organizes the series, called the new location a natural home for the gathering.

The summer edition featured live music from Non-Stop Bhangra, including DJs Rav-E Sandhu, Nix Bhachu, and DJ GT, along with dhol drummers and dance lessons from Dholrhythms Dance Company. The Jessie Square Stage hosted Bay Area duo Lychy Jelly, and a bazaar with over 40 vendors offered food, fashion, and community booths.

Vendors included Bini’s Kitchen, Curry Up Now, Koolfi Creamery, and The Didi Jewelry Project, among others. Anne Taupier, executive director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, said the event connects local restaurants and artists with the community.

The Diwali edition on November 13 will be the second and final Bhangra & Beats Night Market of 2026. Like the summer event, it will be free and open to all ages.
