The scholarships, awarded by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, will support students from over 40 countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and several African nations. They cover tuition, living expenses, and airfare for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

This year's allocation marks a significant increase from the previous year's 120 scholarships, reflecting the university's growing global appeal. The university's Office of International Affairs coordinated the application process, which involved a rigorous selection based on academic merit and recommendations.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Ramachandram attributed the achievement to the university's strong academic reputation and its proactive efforts to attract international talent. He noted that the scholarships will enhance cultural diversity on campus and strengthen academic ties with partner countries.

The new scholars are expected to arrive in the fall semester. The university plans to offer orientation programs and language support to help them adjust. This initiative aligns with the government's broader push to make India a preferred destination for higher education.
