LeapHope is adding therapists in adult, couples, child and family therapy to its U.S. online platform, aiming to address mental health challenges specific to Indian diaspora families. The expansion targets issues arising from migration, cultural adjustment and cross-border caregiving responsibilities.
The platform focuses on culturally tailored care, matching clients with therapists who understand the nuances of Indian family dynamics, acculturation stress and dual identity pressures. This includes navigating expectations around marriage, parenting across generations and managing ties to relatives in India.
LeapHope’s scaling effort comes as demand grows for mental health services that account for the diaspora’s distinct experiences. The company plans to recruit therapists proficient in Indian languages and familiar with community-specific stigmas around seeking therapy.
By broadening its specialist roster, LeapHope seeks to reduce barriers to care for Indian-origin clients who may otherwise avoid mainstream services. The platform offers virtual sessions, making it accessible to diaspora families across different U.S. states.
