The Detroit Malayalee Association (DMA) announced that actor Mohanlal will perform live at its Onam 2026 event, scheduled for August 2026 in Detroit. The performance marks one of the actor's rare live appearances in the United States.

DMA organizers said the event will take place at a venue to be announced later, with ticket sales expected to open in early 2026. The association typically draws thousands of attendees from the Malayali community across the Midwest for its annual Onam festival.

Mohanlal, a leading figure in Malayalam cinema with a career spanning over four decades, has acted in more than 350 films. His live performances often include songs from his movies and interactive segments with the audience.

The DMA Onam celebration also features cultural programs, traditional feasts, and community activities. The 2026 edition is expected to be one of the largest in the association's history, given the headliner's star power.
