Advait Deshmukh, a former medical resident, was sentenced in an Ohio court to six months in jail after pleading guilty to seven counts of voyeurism and one count of attempted tampering with evidence. The charges stemmed from incidents in which he secretly recorded women using staff restrooms at the hospital where he worked.

Deshmukh entered his guilty plea in May 2026. The recordings were discovered during an internal investigation, leading to his arrest and subsequent termination from the medical residency program.

Prosecutors said Deshmukh placed a hidden camera in the restroom, capturing footage of multiple victims over a period of time. The tampering charge arose from his attempt to destroy evidence after being confronted by hospital officials.

The sentence includes a period of supervised release following the jail term. Deshmukh will also be required to register as a sex offender under Ohio law.
