Indian PhD Student Naman Agrawal Wins Cornell Teaching Award

Agrawal, who is pursuing a PhD in neurobiology and behavior, received the 2025-26 Cornelia Ye Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award from Cornell's Center for Teaching Innovation. The award recognizes exceptional international graduate teaching assistants at the university.

In his role as a teaching assistant, Agrawal led discussion sections and laboratory sessions for undergraduate courses in neurobiology. He was praised for his ability to explain complex concepts clearly and for creating an inclusive learning environment.

The award, named after a former Cornell graduate student, includes a monetary prize and a certificate. It is presented annually to teaching assistants who demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to student learning.

Agrawal's research focuses on the neural mechanisms underlying behavior, and he plans to continue his academic career in neuroscience after completing his doctorate.
