3 Indian American Tech Executives Join NVTC Board of Directors

Kalatur serves as chief technology officer at a cloud infrastructure firm, where she oversees engineering and product development. Malhotra is a vice president at a global cybersecurity company, leading its federal business unit. Sharma is the founder and CEO of a data analytics startup based in Reston.

The NVTC board comprises more than 40 members representing the region's technology sector, including executives from established corporations and emerging ventures. The Class of 2029 will serve a three-year term, helping shape the council's policy priorities and industry programs.

In a statement, NVTC president and CEO Jennifer Taylor said the new members bring 'diverse perspectives and deep operational experience' that will strengthen the council's work in workforce development and technology advocacy. The council represents over 400 companies across Northern Virginia.

Kalatur, Malhotra, and Sharma are part of a growing number of Indian Americans in executive roles in the region's tech industry, which employs more than 200,000 people in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
