The Federation of Indian Associations has announced that the 2026 India Day Parade will take place on August 15 in Manhattan. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Madison Avenue and proceed south to 23rd Street.
Organizers expect more than 100,000 participants, including cultural troupes, floats, and community groups. The event will feature performances by musicians and dancers representing various Indian states.
A grand marshal will lead the procession, with the selection to be announced in June. The parade will conclude with a flag-raising ceremony at Madison Square Park.
The India Day Parade has been held annually since 1981 to commemorate India's independence from British rule in 1947. It is one of the largest Indian diaspora events in the United States.
